Ecumenical Activity

Ecumenical Activity:
A Golf Classic will be held in aid of the St Francis Dublin 15 Hospice Appeal at the Hermitage Golf Course on Friday 25th June. On 14th May, the Curate represented the parish at the Official Opening of the Campus at the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, where the Minister for Education and Science, Mr Noel Dempsey TD, performed the opening ceremony. (Incidentally, the ITB Chaplain, Fr Paddy Boyle, chairs the Hospice Appeal Fund Raising Committee). On 25th May, the Rector and Curate took part in the Graduation Service at Castleknock Community College.

Overseas Mission:
Sheena Cadoo (a parishioner currently studying speech therapy in England) is hoping to travel to Uganda this summer to participate in a combined building and teaching project. She will be working in a local school teaching conversational English, maths and other subjects, and will also be helping complete the construction of a new orphanage for children with AIDS in the region. She is currently fundraising for the trip by completing the 3 Peaks Challenge (climbing the three highest mountains in Great Britain within 24 hours). Lennon Neary (another parishioner, and TCD scholar) is going to Madagascar in July with a team working for Habitat for Humanity to build homes for the poorest people. He wishes to thank all those who supported his fundraising events.
