Holy Baptism:

On 16th May 2004 at St Brigid’s Church – Conor Michael Kirby, son of Ger and Angela Kirby of Aspen Avenue. Conor was baptised by the Rector, who was assisted by Fr Roy Donovan (of Ballyfermot Parish), a family friend of the Kirby family.

On 22nd May 2004 in St. Thomas the Apostle, Laurel Lodge - Katherine Janet (Kate) McKiernan, daughter of Seamus and Linda McKiernan of Castleknock Crescent.

On 6th June 2004 in St Brigid’s Church – David Mogboluwaga (Mo) Olusa, son of Muyiwa and Oluromade Olusa of Clonsilla.

On 26th June 2004 in St Brigid’s Church – Ritah Thobekile Nkala (adult) and Madonna Nkala (her daughter), both of Castleknock.

On 27th June 2004 in St Brigid’s Church – Sarah Mary Anne Mutawe and Charles Apollo Matovou Mutawe, children of Charles and Jenny Mutawe of Pecks Lane.

May they shine as a light in the world to the glory of God the Father.

Rite of Confirmation:

On 2nd June at St Anne’s, Dawson Street, at the adult Confirmation Service, the Archbishop of Dublin confirmed Sweet Amen Ugbo of Waterville (Sweet and her family are regular worshippers at St Brigid’s Church).

Lord, may she continue to be yours for ever and daily increase in your Holy Spirit.

Christian Marriage:

On 19th June at St Brigid’s Church, Castleknock – Emeka Ikechukwu Abako and Edith Isoken Osasuyi, both of Verdemont. This was the first wedding in the parish to use the new rite in the BCP (2004).

Lord, may they know your presence and peace in their home .

Christian Funeral:

On 28th May at St Mary’s Church, Clonsilla – Vera Eileen Blowers (nee Haigh), aged 89, late of Huntstown Lawn, Clonsilla.

Christian Burial:

On 2nd June in Castleknock Churchyard (following the funeral in Christ Church, Taney) - Florence Commiskey (aged 91), late of Dundrum. Florence was laid to rest with her husband, the late Canon Norman Commiskey.

May they rest in peace.

Our sympathy and prayers are with all the bereaved, especially the Blowers, Perkins, Commiskey and Despard families, and Beryl Hawkins on the recent death of her sister Doris.
