NOVEMBER AT A GLANCE

Tuesday 2nd All Souls' Eucharist, 8 p.m., St. Brigid's
Christmas Fair Meeting, 8. 30 p.m., Parish Centre [note change of time]
Sunday 14th Arts and Crafts Gift Fair 12 - 5 p.m., Parish Centre

Organist: Sadly we bid farewell to our organist Raymond Russell as he takes a year's sabbatical for family reasons. At a presentation following his last Sunday service, Raymond was thanked for his dedication and hard work over the last six years. For the coming year we welcome Edward Holden from Maynooth who will play for us each Sunday. Edward is a Ph.D. student from Trinity where his thesis is on French piano music of the 19th century.

Ecumenical Service of Remembrance and Blessing of the Graves: This annual service for the whole community takes place on Sunday 7th November at 3.30 p.m. at St Brigid's and St Mary's (simultaneously). The collection at both services will be donated to the Dublin 15 Hospice Appeal.

Advent Posada: We as a parish for the past few years have followed this Mexican custom (courtesy of the Church Army) whereby the crib figures of Mary and Joseph are offered prayerful hospitality in different homes around the parishes from 1st December until Christmas Eve, after which they return to each church for the celebration of the Nativity. It is a great way to prepare our homes as well as our hearts for the real meaning of Christmas, and enables us to pray with each other in our homes.

Looking ahead to December & beyond:

Saturday 4th December: Parish Christmas Fair - Helpers Needed.
Saturday 11th December: St Patrick's Cathedral Choir sings Christmas Carols at St Brigid's, 8 p.m. Tickets from the Parish Office.
