Congratulations:
To our Lay Reader Robert Lawson on being accepted to train for the Auxiliary Minister next September. We wish Robert God’s Blessing as he prepares for this new journey in life.
Confirmation:
Parish Confirmation takes place on Sunday 29th May in St. Brigid’s at 11.30 a.m. The Archbishop will ask the candidates to affirm for themselves the promises made on their behalf at their baptism, he will then lay his hands on them and will pray that they will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit for strength to follow Christ throughout their lives. Please pray for the candidates: Robert Beattie, Thinus Barnard, Conor Doyle, Alison Hollingsworth, Matthew Lowe, Emy Nkemena, Madonna Nkala and Sarah Wickham, and for those who are preparing them.
Farewell:
As everyone knows by now, Sandra has been appointed rector of the Dundalk and Ballymascanlon Group of parishes in Armagh diocese. We wish her well and know that her great liturgical and pastoral gifts will be prove to be a blessing to the parishioners of this new group in North Louth and South Armagh. Sandra’s last Sunday with us will be 8th May, and there will be a reception to say farewell to her after the 11.30 a.m. service that day in the Parish Centre. Her institution will be on 13th May in Dundalk parish church at 8 p.m., and we are exploring the possibility of laying on a bus to the service.
Welcome:
We are delighted to announce that we have a new curate coming to us in June. Her name is Elaine Dunne, she is 27 and is a native of Malahide. She has been a student to date, and she currently finishing an M.Litt. Her Ordination will take place on 19th June 2005.
