Other NewsEmmaus Course 2005 | A Letter from Janet Craven | Halloween Art Camp | Best Wishes | Digital Photography Course… Emmaus Course 2005The Emmaus course is a fun, informal introduction to the Christian faith, for newcomers and old hands alike. It covers all sorts of interesting subjects from God’s existence to living as a Christian in the modern world. The course has been used widely across Britain, Ireland and beyond. We are starting an Emmaus course on Thursdays in the Castleknock Parish Centre at 8 p.m. and everyone is welcome. The first night is on Thursday 6th October and the course runs until the end of November, but each night is a separate unit and so feel free to come when you are available. The evening runs until 9.15 p.m. and is followed by tea and coffee. The first night starts with the most basic question for all religions: “How can we know that God exists?” Please contact the Parish Office for more details.A Letter from Janet CravenTo the Rector and Ministry Team, and all dear friends at St. Mary’s and St. Brigid’s. A very heartfelt thank you for all the prayers and kind practical support while I was recovering from surgery and moving to Sandymount. The beautiful bouquet and lovely floral painting “Lily in the Vase” by Valerie Fildes, which were given to me on the last Sunday, really touched me and will always be a sign of love and fellowship in Christ. My new parish is St. Matthews, Irishtown, to which I was linked through Cross Links. My new bungalow home is far above all you could ask for or even think. Some have made the trail - others will follow, I am sure, and enjoy the bracing air of Strand Road nearby. Thank you, too, for supporting the “Thanksgiving Evening” in June, a lovely finale for my eight years at Creggan with Alice. I can’t forget all my African hospital colleagues who get neither pension nor the excellent free services available here, as my next surgery date comes up, dv, on 21 September. It is good to have the link with Liuli, to keep in touch with Africa. At 10 a.m. on a Sunday, I shall often remember you and that treasured corner of seat no. 11. How many prayers and praises God responded to there! One of the Psalms says “The Lord embraces those who trust in Him”, That really covers it all, Asante Bwana. May He bless you all abundantly, and may He enhance all done in His name in the parish. Florence joins in appreciation too.
