Mothers’ Union

The April meeting was the AGM, at which we heard reports from all the officers and from chairperson Hilary. Sandra Connolly took over as Treasurer while Avril Hollingsworth moved sideways to be secretary. Valerie Greene has taken on the Overseas Portfolio. We are delighted to be hosting the worldwide Trustees for an evening when they visit Ireland, and look forward to their visit.

Youth Club

Six members of the youth club headed off to Edenderry rugby club on 22nd April to join with 40 other teenagers from youth groups in the Meath and Kildare Diocese. The event was a multi sport fun day which included tag rugby, hockey played with hurleys, and soccer, as well as relay games and trying to cross the slippery pole with members of the local fire brigade trying to hose them off it. The sports culminated with an egg fight. After showers and dry clothes there was a superb barbecue laid on. We hope that we will be invited back next year as it was an excellent day out. It was a great chance for us to meet other young people.
