Ordination to the Priesthood:
Elaine was ordained to the priesthood on Sunday 25th June, and her first celebration of the Eucharist on July 1st. This is a very important occasion, not just for Elaine, but for all of us as we have the tremendous joy and responsibility of training a new priest for the entire Church.
Confirmation:
The Archbishop confirmed 16 young people and 1 adult on Sunday 11th June. Thank you to all those who worked very hard to ensure the success of the day, and particularly the great team of Faith Friends, leaders of the Confirmation Group, who have made sure that the year long preparation has been both thorough and enjoyable. Thanks too to the candidates who have worked very hard and have been very keen to be involved in the life of the Church.
Confirmation Coffee:
Well done to the Confirmation Group who hosted coffee after church in Castleknock on Sunday 28th May, and raised enough money to buy 3 wells and 2 litters of piglets for communities in the developing world though the Trocaire Global gift scheme.
Christian Aid:
Thank you to all who supported the recent collection and coffee morning for Christian Aid, which raised almost €960.00. It was particularly good to be able to use Christian Aid’s excellent material, including the fascinating DVD, to illustrate the great need for aid in the developing world.
Service of Commemoration and Hope:
The annual service to remember those who have died as a result of drug abuse in Dublin 15 took place in St. Brigid’s, Blanchardstown in May. As always, the service was hard hitting, emotional and honest. The theme this year was “Sibling Support”: the devastation that drug abuse can visit on brothers and sisters.
13/30 service:
Our young people’s Sunday evening services have finished until September, with prayers for all those doing their exams.

New healing service:
The laying on of hands for healing is now taking place on the 3rd Sunday of each month, directly after the 11.30am service, and has proved very popular. This will continue through July and August.
